Introduction

Riz Gras is a classic dish from West Africa, made with fragrant rice, a rich tomato sauce, and tender chicken. It’s simple, delicious, and perfect for family meals, festive occasions, or simply enjoying the taste of African cuisine at home.

📝 Ingredients (serves 4)
🍗 For the Chicken:

  • 500–600 g chicken pieces (e.g., drumsticks or breast)

  • 2 garlic cloves (chopped)

  • 1 tsp grated ginger

  • 1 onion (chopped)

  • 1 tsp paprika powder

  • 1 stock cube

  • Salt, pepper

  • 2 tbsp oil

🍚 For the Rice:

  • 300 g long-grain rice (washed)

  • 3 large tomatoes or 4 tbsp tomato paste

  • 1 large onion

  • 1 bell pepper (red or yellow, diced)

  • 1 small chili pepper (to taste)

  • 2 garlic cloves

  • 1 bay leaf (optional)

  • 1 stock cube

  • 3 tbsp oil

  • 500 ml water or chicken broth

1. Prepare the chicken
